The Missouri Mavericks relied on the scoring touch of Colt King, who netted two goals, to beat the Wichita Thunder, 4-1.

King found the back of the net 15:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Missouri and again while on the power play 19:11 into the second to make the score 3-1 Missouri.

Missouri also got a goal from Andrew Courtney as well. Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Anders Franzon, Dave Pszenyczny, Trevor Kell, Evan Vossen, Mike Ramsay, Obi Aduba, John-Scott Dickson, and Sebastien Thinel, who contributed one a piece.

Wichita was led by Jared Walker, who scored the team's only goal. Walker scored on the power play 11:45 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Thunder earned a power play opportunity when Pszenyczny was put in the box for slashing. Jon Booras assisted on the tally.

Shane Owen recorded 24 saves for Missouri. The Mavericks totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Torrie Jung made 22 saves for Wichita on 26 shots. The Thunder totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
