Coccimiglio leads Tulsa over Wichita, 4-0

The Tulsa Oilers' Brandon Coccimiglio had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-0 win over the Wichita Thunder.

Coccimiglio scored at 7:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tulsa and again while 38 seconds into the third to make the score 2-0 Tulsa.

Tulsa's defensive play was more effective than usual against Wichita. The Oilers average 3.0 goals allowed per game. Tulsa's offense was clicking better than usual and put 33 shots on goal during the game, better than the 28.8 shots per game it averages.

Tulsa additionally got points from Adam Pleskach, who also had one goal and two assists. Tulsa also got a goal from Michel Beausoleil as well. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Kyle Bochek, who had two and Ben Gordon, B Macaulay, and Eric Tallent, who contributed one a piece.

The Thunder were below their usual level of shot production, taking 17 shots compared to the 25.8 Wichita averages. The Thunder did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Wichita puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game.

The Thunder were led by Jon Booras, who took five shots.

Shane Madolora made 17 saves for the Oilers on 17 shots. Tulsa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Wichita's Taylor Nelson stopped 29 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Thunder incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
