Rapid City rides Boron to victory over Arizona, 4-1

Tim Boron stood on his head and made 35 saves to lead Rapid City to a 4-1 victory over the Arizona Sundogs.

Arizona's power play was ineffective against Rapid City's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Rapid City was led by Justin Faryna, who racked up one goal. Faryna scored 6:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rapid City. Kyle Stroh picked up the assist.

Rapid City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Rapid City forced the Sundogs goalie Andrew Engelage to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Rapid City additionally got points from Konrad Reeder, who also registered one goal and one assist. Scott Wray also scored for Rapid City. More assists for Rapid City came via Winston Day Chief, Jesse Schultz, Brett Kostolansky, Ryan Palmer, Matthew Larke, and Scott Brannon, who each chipped in one.

Arizona stifled Rapid City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Rapid City was unable to stop the Sundogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Arizona eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

The Sundogs were led by Jordan Clendenning, who scored the team's only goal. Clendenning scored 9:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. Bryan Cameron assisted on the tally.

Rapid City incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Andrew Engelage made 30 saves for Arizona on 34 shots. The Sundogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
