Allen erases deficit to stun Tulsa, 3-2

The Allen Americans climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Tulsa Oilers, 3-2.

Allen never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Americans fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Tulsa's Andrew Himelson at 4:31 in the second period. Allen knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by John Snowden at 16:18 in the second period. The Americans got the game winner on the power play at 8:23 in the third period on a goal by Snowden.

Alex Lavoie had one goal and two assists to lead Allen.

The Americans' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Tulsa power plays. Allen's offense was clicking better than usual and put 41 shots on goal during the game, better than the 35.0 shots per game it averages.

Allen also got a goal from Darryl Bootland as well. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Ross Rouleau, who had two and Kale Kerbashian and Trevor Ludwig, who contributed one a piece.

The Oilers' offense rang up 33 shots on the Americans' net.

Tulsa was helped by Tomas Klempa, who had one goal. Klempa scored 16:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tulsa. Kyle Bochek provided the assist. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Jake Obermeyer and Drew Fisher, who each chipped in one.

Bryan Pitton recorded 31 saves for Allen. The Americans incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Oilers' Shane Madolora stopped 38 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Tulsa incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
