Huge game by Thinel boosts Missouri over Arizona, 4-1Tims Toyota Center Sat, Oct 26, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Missouri Mavericks had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Arizona Sundogs. The Mavericks were led by Sebastien Thinel, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Thinel scored the first of his two goals at 15:20 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Missouri. Dave Pszenyczny picked up the assist. Thinel's next tally made the score 4-0 Missouri with 8:52 left in the third period. A boarding penalty on Damian Surma had put Missouri on the power play. Eric Castonguay provided the assist. Missouri also got points from Trevor Kell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Missouri also got a goal from Rob Kleebaum as well. In addition, Missouri received assists from Matt Stephenson and Colt King, who contributed one a piece. The Sundogs racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and five majors for 75 minutes in penalty time. Arizona had been averaging 33.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Sundogs put 27 shots on net during the contest, more than the 23.0 they average per game. The Mavericks registered three goals on 10 power play opportunities. Team's Pszenyczny and King were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Arizona took out Andrew Engelage after he had made 23 saves and installed Cam Lanigan in goal, where he finished with six saves and the loss. The Sundogs registered zero goals on seven power play opportunities. For Arizona, Ian Schultz, Justin Pender, and Sebastien Geoffrion were ejected from the contest.
