Millan stymies Tulsa, Denver wins 4-1

Kieran Millan stood on his head and made 36 saves to lead the Denver Cutthroats to a 4-1 victory over the Tulsa Oilers.

 

Denver was sparked by Garrett Bembridge, who racked up one goal. Bembridge scored 13:41 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Denver. Troy Schwab assisted on the tally.

The 45 shots that the Cutthroats put on net surpassed Denver's average of 36.0 shots per game this season.

Denver additionally got points from Schwab, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Denver also got a goal from Matt Glasser as well. Other players who recorded assists for Denver were TJ Fox, A.J. Gale, and Michael Trebish, who each chipped in one.

Tulsa put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Cutthroats to score on any of their three power plays. Denver was unable to stop the Oilers from sending pucks towards the net, and Tulsa eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

The Oilers were led by Thomas Beauregard, who scored the team's only goal. Beauregard scored 11:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tulsa.

The Cutthroats ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. Shane Madolora rejected 41 shots on goal for Tulsa. The Oilers totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
