Perth Blue Wings beats Ottawa Canadians 3-2 after comeback scare

Perth Blue Wings survived a determined comeback attempt by Ottawa Canadians on the way to a 3-2 win.

Perth Blue Wings made the score 3-0 on a goal by Zac Rodier at 1:16 in the third period, and Ottawa Canadians got as close as 3-2 when Scott MciLroy scored 2:57 into the third period.

Rodier had two goals and one assist to lead Perth Blue Wings. Rodier scored the first of his two goals at 16:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Perth Blue Wings. Blair Barr assisted on the tally. Rodier's next tally made the score Perth Blue Wings with 18:44 left in the third period. Perth Blue Wings had taken the advantage when Ottawa Canadians' Mitch Parker got sent off for holding. Jimmy Pearson provided the assist.

Perth Blue Wings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Ottawa Canadians to score on any of its three power plays. Perth Blue Wings' offense rang up 39 shots on Ottawa Canadians' net.

Perth Blue Wings also got points from Barr, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Perth Blue Wings received assists from Steven Plescia and Alex Vala, who contributed one a piece.

Perth Blue Wings was unable to stop Ottawa Canadians from sending pucks towards the net, and Ottawa Canadians eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Luke Gagnon also scored for Ottawa Canadians. More assists for Ottawa Canadians came via Casey Doner and Connor Devereaux, who each chipped in one.

Jeremy Wright recorded 40 saves for Perth Blue Wings. Perth Blue Wings totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Dominic Plaschy made 36 saves for Ottawa Canadians on 39 shots. Ottawa Canadians ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
