Ottawa West Golden Knights blows out Metcalfe Jets, 7-2

Ottawa West Golden Knights had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over Metcalfe Jets.

Ethan Allard had two goals and one assist to lead Ottawa West Golden Knights. Allard scored the first of his two goals at 1:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa West Golden Knights. Derrin Lahoux assisted on the tally. Allard's next tally made the score 7-2 Ottawa West Golden Knights with 2:04 left in the third period. A roughing penalty on Joel Cunningham had put Ottawa West Golden Knights on the power play. Cody Kyle picked up the assist.

Ottawa West Golden Knights excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Ottawa West Golden Knights kept Metcalfe Jets' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jordan Vachon made 30 saves on 37 shots.

Ottawa West Golden Knights also got points from Jeff Gottzman, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Dave Kilrea, who also registered one goal and two assists. Jake Gaudet also scored for Ottawa West Golden Knights. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa West Golden Knights were Brad Mason, who had one and Phil Edgar, who had two.

Metcalfe Jets' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to Ottawa West Golden Knights' power play unit.

Metcalfe Jets was helped by Nathan Avery, who grabbed one goal. Avery scored 1:35 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Ottawa West Golden Knights. Matt Borkowski assisted on the tally. Metcalfe Jets also got a goal from Jordan Malette as well. More assists for Metcalfe Jets came via Matthew Shaheen, who had one and Ryan Pike, who had two.
