Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Belle River Canadiens defeated the Wheatley Sharks in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO). The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout.Belle River stifled Wheatley's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Canadiens were helped by Trevor Sparks, who had one goal. Sparks scored 5:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Belle River. Guy Levesque picked up the assist. Others who scored for Belle River included Branden Larocque and Sebastian Kanally, who scored one goal each. In addition, Belle River received assists from Kody Gagnon, who had two and Brad Carroll, Mike Ditty, and Hunter Corp, who contributed one a piece. The Sharks were helped by Austin Fontaine, who tallied one goal. Fontaine scored 17:53 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Wheatley. Scott Florence provided the assist. Wheatley also had goals scored by Jimmy Ciacelli and Cale Phibbs, who each put in one. More assists for Wheatley came via Zach Wilson, Shawn Hope, Ryan Zsebok, and Jon Woelk, who each chipped in one. Mitch Topliffe recorded 21 saves for Belle River. The Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Wheatley's Conner MacKinnon stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Sharks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
