Belle River uses fast start to beat Alvinston, 10-5Belle River Lakeshore Arena Fri, Dec 27, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Alvinston Flyers fell behind early, and the Belle River Canadiens kept piling on the points on the way to a 10-5 victory. Belle River got the win with help from a great game by Brad Carroll, who had two goals and three assists. Carroll scored the first of his two goals at 3:46 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Belle River. Thomas Eady picked up the assist. Carroll's next tally made the score 5-0 Belle River with 9:57 left in the first period. Eady assisted on the tally. Alvinston was unable to stop the Canadiens from sending pucks towards the net, and Belle River eventually piled up 62 shots on goal. The Canadiens bested their season scoring average. Belle River has scored at the pace of 4.2 goals per game during the current campaign. Belle River also got points from Branden Larocque, who also registered two goals and two assists, Sebastian Kanally, who also finished with one goal and one assist, JJ Percy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Eady, who also had two goals and two assists. Belle River also had goals scored by Zack Bedard and Connor Goodchild, who each put in one. More assists for Belle River came via Brenden Crundwell, who had three and Tyler Turner, Mitch Topliffe, Brian Johnson, Logan Percy, and Trevor Sparks, who contributed one a piece. The Flyers forced the Canadiens goalie Topliffe to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Alvinston was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes. The Flyers were helped by Sam Vokes, who finished with one goal and two assists. Vokes scored on the power play 16:29 into the first period to make the score 7-2 Belle River. Alvinston had gained a power play chance when Hunter Corp was whistled for slashing. Dan Warner picked up the assist.
