Horvath leads Blenheim over Wallaceburg, 5-0Blenheim Memorial Arena Sun, Dec 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Zack Horvath was all over the ice for the Blenheim Blades, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Blenheim's 5-0 win over the Wallaceburg Lakers. Horvath found the back of the net on the power play 6:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Blenheim and again while on the power play 3:16 into the second to make the score 2-0 Blenheim.The Blades made Lakers' netminders to work all game long, firing 44 shots and forcing 39 saves. Ben Vankessel made 20 stops and Joel Sowinski made 19. Blenheim excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Blenheim also had goals scored by Kirk McKillop, Kellen Kaniecki, and Drew Marlatt, who scored one goal each. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Jarrod Oliphant, who had three, Zach Mailloux and Alex Ritchie, who each chipped in one, and Cam Aitken and Justin Rossignol, who contributed two a piece. Wallaceburg did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Lakers put an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game. Eric Stewardson recorded 20 saves for the Blades. Blenheim incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Wallaceburg incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
