The Dresden Kings survived a determined comeback attempt by the Belle River Canadiens on the way to a 6-4 win. A goal by Mike Myers put Dresden up 6-3 in the third period, but Belle River pulled to within two on Guy Levesque's tally 18:43 into the third period. Myers had two goals and one assist to lead the Kings. Myers scored the first of his two goals at 9:24 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Dresden. Dede Cato assisted on the tally. Myers' next tally made the score Dresden with 4:15 left in the third period. Blake Padbury picked up the assist. Dresden stifled the Canadiens' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Kings kept Belle River's goalie busy throughout the game, and Justus Mancuso made 25 saves on 31 shots. Dresden bested its season scoring average. The Kings average 3.0 goals per game. Dresden additionally got points from Padbury, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Kevin Ritzer also scored for Dresden. Other players who recorded assists for Dresden were Jeff Vanrabaeys, who had two and Andrew France and Wade Esselman, who contributed one a piece. The Canadiens excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Dresden was unable to stop Belle River from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadiens eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Belle River was helped by Connor Goodchild, who racked up one goal. Goodchild scored 8:39 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Dresden. Tyler Turner provided the assist. Belle River also got points from Mike Ditty, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Belle River also got a goal from Branden Larocque as well. In addition, Belle River received assists from Hunter Corp, James Shelton, Zack Bedard, Evan Makaric, and Brian Johnson, who each chipped in one. Brent Paxton rejected 30 shots on goal for the Kings. Dresden incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Canadiens incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
