The Wheatley Sharks rallied from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win over the Dresden Kings. Wheatley never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Sharks was down 2-0 after a goal by Dresden's Mike Myers at 1:23 in the second period. Wheatley tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Brett Bowman at 4:54 in the second period. The Sharks scored the game winner at 18:14 in the third period on a goal by Bowman. Wheatley was sparked by Jimmy Ciacelli, who registered one goal. Wheatley also got points from Brendon Anger, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Wheatley received assists from Mike Reid and Scott Florence, who contributed one a piece. The Kings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Sharks to score on any of their three power plays. Dresden's offense rang up 38 shots on Wheatley's net. Dresden additionally got points from Dede Cato, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Dresden came via Graham Smyth and Alex Ritchie, who each chipped in one. Conner MacKinnon rejected 36 shots on goal for the Sharks. Wheatley incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brent Paxton recorded 26 saves for the Kings. Dresden incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
