Blenheim holds on for 4-3 win against Belle River

The Belle River Canadiens tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Blenheim Blades held on for a 4-3 victory.

Blenheim took a 4-2 lead during the second period, only to have Belle River storm back on a James Shelton goal 11:06 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Blades was paced on offense by Zack Horvath and Kirk McKillop, who combined for four points. Horvath registered two goals and McKillop also added one goal and one assist.

Blenheim stifled the Canadiens' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Blades forced Belle River goalie Adam Leboeuf to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Blenheim additionally got points from McKillop, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Blenheim also got a goal from Cam Aitken as well. More assists for Blenheim came via Jordan Durston and Tyler Boughner, who each chipped in one and Zach Mailloux and Dylan Muzzatti, who contributed two a piece.

Zack Bedard also scored for Belle River. In addition, Belle River received assists from Guy Levesque, who had one and Branden Larocque, who had two.

Blenheim's Eric Stewardson stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Blades incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Leboeuf rejected 30 shots on goal for the Canadiens. Belle River incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
