Blenheim falls to Alvinston in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Blenheim Memorial Arena Sun, Nov 10, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Alvinston Flyers' Tyler Kettler scored 1:13 into overtime to beat the Blenheim Blades, 4-3 (OT). Alvinston came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Flyers trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by Blenheim's Dylan Muzzatti at 17:36 in the first period. Alvinston knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Cam Aitken at 13:58 in the third period. Joe Archer had two goals to lead the Flyers to victory. Archer found the back of the net on the power play 2:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Blenheim and again while on the power play 9:02 into the third to make the score 3-2 Alvinston. Alvinston also got points from Kettler, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Alvinston also got a goal from Zach VanEyk as well. Other players who recorded assists for Alvinston were Dan Warner, who had two and Dylan Lightfoot, Chad Vaneyk, and Chad Rainsberry, who contributed one a piece. Alvinston was unable to stop the Blades from sending pucks towards the net, and Blenheim eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. Blenheim additionally got points from Kirk McKillop, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Zach Mailloux, who had two and Zack Horvath and Drew Marlatt, who each chipped in one. Brett Avery made 38 saves for the Flyers on 41 shots. Alvinston incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Eric Stewardson recorded 23 saves for the Blades. Blenheim incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
