Wheatley blows out Amherstburg, 5-0Wheatley Area Arena Mon, Nov 04, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Wheatley Sharks were firing on all cylinders against the Amherstburg Admirals, and when the final buzzer sounded Sharks emerged with a 5-0 win. Wheatley was led by Jon Woelk, who registered one goal. Woelk scored 7:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wheatley. Scott Florence provided the assist. Amherstburg was unable to stop the Sharks from sending pucks towards the net, and Wheatley eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. Wheatley additionally got points from Mike Reid, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Austin Thompson, who also had one goal and one assist, and Florence, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Cale Phibbs also scored for Wheatley. In addition, Wheatley received assists from Brett Babkirk, who had two and Travis Campbell, Brendon Anger, and Eric Rivard, who contributed one a piece. The Admirals did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Amherstburg puts an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game. Conner MacKinnon rejected 24 shots on goal for the Sharks. Wheatley incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Admirals' Chris Wallace stopped 36 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Amherstburg incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Admirals, Blake Rutckyj was ejected from the game.
