Daniel Slipchuck had two points to lead the Essex 73s to a 5-2 victory over the Blenheim Blades. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 1:23 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Essex's offense rang up 51 shots on Blenheim's net. Essex also got points from Corey Beaulieu, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Essex also got a goal from Eric Shaw as well. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Alex Garon, Jordan Ryan, Philip Janikowski, Colin DeLaet, and Dan Mainella, who contributed one a piece. The Blades stifled the 73s' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Blenheim did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Blades average 4.5 goals per game. Blenheim's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Essex's Jacob Kment stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The 73s totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play. For Essex, Garon was ejected from the game. Justin Pratt rejected 46 shots on goal for the Blades. Blenheim totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Blades ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Pete Mosher was ejected from the game.
