Huge game by Fleming boosts Mooretown over Dresden, 6-2Mooretown Rink 1 Sat, Nov 02, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Caden Fleming was all over the ice for the Mooretown Flags, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Mooretown's 6-2 win over the Dresden Kings. Fleming beat Jamie Morreau with a shot 1:27 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mooretown. Dan Lumley picked up the assist. Fleming dished an assist on Spencer Bronzi's goal that made the score 2-1 Mooretown at 14:46 into the first period. He added another helper on Austin Ainsworth's goal that made the score 4-1 Mooretown at 16:33 into the second period.The Flags' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Dresden power plays. Mooretown kept Dresden's goalie busy throughout the game, and Morreau made 33 saves on 39 shots. Mooretown also got points from McGregor Haddon, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Jeff Schroeter, who also had one goal and two assists, and Ainsworth, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mooretown also got a goal from Brandon Layman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mooretown were Brett Thompson and Sam Jasmin, who contributed one a piece. The Kings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Flags were unable to stop Dresden from sending pucks towards the net, and the Kings eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Dresden was helped by Macks Holmes, who tallied one goal. Holmes scored 7:55 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jay Piett assisted on the tally. Dresden additionally got points from Braedon Nicholson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Dresden received assists from Derek Daly, who had one. Brandon Johnson recorded 36 saves for Mooretown. The Flags incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Kings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
