Beaulieu's goals lift Essex to 7-4 victory over Belle RiverBelle River Lakeshore Arena Fri, Nov 01, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Essex 73s relied on the scoring touch of Corey Beaulieu, who netted two goals, to beat the Belle River Canadiens, 7-4. Beaulieu scored at 18:07 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Belle River and again while 7:01 into the third to make the score 4-4.Essex's offense rang up 43 shots on Belle River's net. Essex also got points from Jordan Ryan, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Colin DeLaet, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Dylan Solecki, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Scott Bromley also scored for Essex. In addition, Essex received assists from Matthew Hebert, who had three and Brett Clarke, Tyler Raymont, Alex Garon, Daniel Slipchuck, and Chad Hedrick, who contributed one a piece. The Canadiens were led by Trevor Sparks, who finished with two goals. Sparks scored the first of his two goals short handed at 10:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Belle River. An interference call on Evan Makaric put Belle River on the penalty kill. James Shelton picked up the assist. Sparks' next tally short handed made the score 4-1 Belle River with 8:58 left in the second period. Guy Levesque assisted on the tally. Belle River also got a goal from Branden Larocque as well. Other players who recorded assists for Belle River were andy gossman, Tyler Turner, Zack Bedard, Kody Gagnon, and Connor Goodchild, who each chipped in one. Jacob Kment made zero saves before being replaced by Arren Romeril, who took the win and made 21 saves. The 73s incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Adam Leboeuf recorded 36 saves for the Canadiens. Belle River incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
