Belle River falls to Mooretown in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Mooretown Flags' Jeff Schroeter scored 4:30 into overtime to beat the Belle River Canadiens, 6-5 (OT).

Mooretown got the win thanks to a great game by Schroeter, who had two goals and three assists. Schroeter scored the first of his two goals at 1:36 into the third period to make the score 4-4. McGregor Haddon picked up the assist. Schroeter's next tally made the score 6-5 Mooretown with 15:30 left in overtime. Brett Thompson assisted on the tally.

Mooretown also got points from Thompson, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Sam Jasmin, who also registered two goals and one assist. Ryan Lyle also scored for Mooretown. Other players who recorded assists for Mooretown were Chad Beauchamp, Adam Hayes, and Dan Lumley, who each chipped in one.

Belle River forced the Flags goalie Brandon Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

The Canadiens were led by Mike Ditty, who finished with one goal and two assists. Ditty scored 6:10 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Belle River. Belle River additionally got points from James Shelton, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Belle River also got a goal from Branden Larocque as well. In addition, Belle River received assists from Matthew Couloufis, who had two and Tyler Snyder, Hunter Corp, and Brenden Crundwell, who contributed one a piece.

Johnson recorded 40 saves for Mooretown. The Flags incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Belle River's Scott Tricker stopped 21 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Canadiens incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
