Jodoin's goals lift Amherstview to 4-1 victory over Napanee

Cody Jodoin had two goals to lead the Amherstview Jets to a 4-1 victory over the Napanee Raiders.

Jodoin scored at 2:39 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Amherstview and again while 6:56 into the third to make the score 3-1 Amherstview.

Amherstview's Trpy Paquette was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Paquette certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.34 entering the contest.

The Jets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Napanee to score on any of its five power plays. Amherstview forced the Raiders goalie Kyle Copeland to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Amherstview additionally got points from Cody Stapley, who also had one goal and one assist. Amherstview also got a goal from Ben Bianco as well. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Josh Leblanc, who had one and Jesse Stone and Brett Yake, who contributed two a piece.

Napanee was held below its usual level of production. The Raiders put an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game.

Napanee was led by Blade Grigg, who scored the team's only goal. Grigg scored 15:15 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Amherstview. Josh Murphy APM picked up the assist.

The Jets incurred 11 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kyle Copeland made 36 saves for the Raiders on 39 shots. Napanee incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Raiders, Pascal DiRocco was ejected from the game.
