Amherstview uses shootout to best Campbellford, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Amherstview Jets defeated the Campbellford Rebels in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams.

Amherstview came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Jets trailed 2-1 after a goal by Campbellford's Joshua Leavey at 10:59 in the second period. Amherstview knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Dustin Kennedy at 12:11 in the second period.

The Jets' offense rang up 42 shots on the Rebels' net.

Amherstview also got a goal from Cassidy Bruni as well. More assists for Amherstview came via Cody Jodoin and Adam Shulist, who contributed one a piece.

Campbellford kept Amherstview's goalie busy throughout the game, and James DAndrea made 38 saves on 40 shots.

The Rebels were helped by Jordan Boutilier, who tallied one goal. Boutilier scored on the power play 13:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Campbellford. Campbellford had taken the advantage when the Jets' Brody Taylor got sent off for roughing after whistle. Leavey assisted on the tally. Campbellford additionally got points from Leavey, who also registered one goal and one assist.

Amherstview incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cole Mahoney recorded 39 saves for the Rebels. Campbellford incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
