xGeorgetown downs xCobourg, 8-2

John Adams tallied one point to lead the xGeorgetown Raiders to an 8-2 victory over the xCobourg Cougars.

xGeorgetown's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five xCobourg power plays. The Raiders forced xCobourg goalie Mathieu Ouellet to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. xGeorgetown outdid its season average for goals scored. The Raiders average 3.7 goals per game. xGeorgetown got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

xGeorgetown additionally got points from Gavin Shantz, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Jordan Brown, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Scott Emerson, who also had one goal and one assist, Anthony Marra, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Brendan Jacome, who also registered one goal and one assist. Adam Mascherin also scored for xGeorgetown. More assists for xGeorgetown came via Tyler MacPherson, Steve Midensky, and Andrew Court, who contributed one a piece and Liam Clare, Steve Hladin, and Phil Kiss, who each chipped in two.

The Cougars were helped by Stuart King, who grabbed one goal. King scored 11:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mark MacAulay picked up the assist. xCobourg also got a goal from Liam Grande as well. In addition, xCobourg received assists from TJ Melancon, Jake Emilio, and Mitchell Gibson, who contributed one a piece.

The Raiders' Michael McNiven stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. xGeorgetown incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Raiders ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Midensky was ejected from the game. Ouellet rejected 24 shots on goal for xCobourg. The Cougars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
