Oakville downs xSt. Michaels, 7-2

The Oakville Blades took home the 7-2 victory over the xSt. Michaels Buzzers.

Oakville forced xSt. Michaels goalie Victor Adamo to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. The Blades surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Oakville averages 3.1 goals per game. The defensemen of the Blades were also effective in the Buzzers' zone, and came away with two goals. Oakville was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 24 penalty minutes.

The Blades were led by Ross Sloan, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Sloan scored 18:32 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Oakville. Others who scored for Oakville included Sean Kohler and Greg Campbell, who each put in two and Joe Seney and Dalton Bew, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Oakville were Mark Bzowey, who had two and Kamil Tkaczuk, Brandon Lukezic, Kris Bennett, David Dischiavi, and Chris Poletek, who contributed one a piece.

xSt. Michaels' offense rang up 38 shots on Oakville's net. The Buzzers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

xSt. Michaels was helped by David Italiano, who tallied two goals. Italiano scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:30 into the third period to make the score 4-1 Oakville. The Buzzers earned a power play opportunity when Bzowey was put in the box for hooking. Jake Evans assisted on the tally. Italiano's next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 Oakville with 8:06 left in the third period. xSt. Michaels had taken the advantage when the Blades' Daniel Jelic got sent off for tripping. Ian Edmondson provided the assist.

Mark Manolescu rejected 36 shots on goal for Oakville. The Blades registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Victor Adamo made 31 saves for the Buzzers on 37 shots. xSt. Michaels registered two goals on four power play opportunities. For the Buzzers, Thomas Beretta was ejected from the game.
