xGeorgetown rides McNiven to victory over yToronto Lakeshore, 4-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Michael McNiven helped the xGeorgetown Raiders defeat the yToronto Lakeshore Patriots, 4-1.

xGeorgetown was led by John Adams, who registered one goal. Adams scored 16:50 into the second period to make the score 2-1 xGeorgetown. Ryan Smith provided the assist.

The Raiders forced yToronto Lakeshore goalie Jeremy Helvig to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The defensemen of xGeorgetown were also effective in the Patriots' zone, and came away with two goals.

xGeorgetown also got points from Steven Mueller, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. xGeorgetown also had goals scored by Kyle Allan and Phil Kiss, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for xGeorgetown were Steve Midensky, who had two and Jordan Brown, Scott Emerson, Adam Mascherin, and Liam Board, who contributed one a piece.

yToronto Lakeshore was held below its usual level of production. The Patriots put an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. The Raiders were unable to stop yToronto Lakeshore from sending pucks towards the net, and the Patriots eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

yToronto Lakeshore was led by Andreas Tsogkas, who scored the team's only goal. Tsogkas scored 19:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 yToronto Lakeshore. Brandon Willett picked up the assist.

xGeorgetown's McNiven stopped 30 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Raiders totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. xGeorgetown ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Emerson was ejected from the game. Helvig recorded 27 saves for the Patriots. yToronto Lakeshore totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For the Patriots, Ryall Ledyard was ejected from the game.
