xWhitby beats Lindsay 6-0 as Diclemente gains shutout

Boyd Diclemente made 26 saves to complete the shutout and led the xWhitby Fury to a 6-0 win against the Lindsay Muskies.

xWhitby was sparked by Henry Thompson, who grabbed one goal. Thompson scored 19:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xWhitby. Patrick McAuliffe provided the assist.

The Fury's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Lindsay power plays. Lindsay was unable to stop xWhitby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Fury eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Others who scored for xWhitby included Mike Panowyk, who had two and Marcus Crawford, Ryan Kirkup, and Mitch Emerson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for xWhitby were Jeff Murray, Greg Milner, Marco Azzano, and Alex Adams, who each chipped in one and Adam Clements and Taylor Best, who contributed two a piece.

The Muskies' offense operated below they season average. Lindsay puts an average of 3.0 pucks into the net per game.

xWhitby incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Muskies' Branden Francey stopped 38 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Lindsay incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
