xTrenton beats xWellington 3-2 after comeback scare

The xWellington Dukes tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the xTrenton Golden Hawks held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Ryan Kinsella put xTrenton up 3-1 in the third period, but xWellington pulled to within one on Mike Robinson's tally 18:55 into the third period.

The Golden Hawks pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 17 penalty minutes.

xTrenton also had goals scored by Tyler Mayea and Hunter Fargey, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for xTrenton were Mathew Thompson, Fabrizio Ricci, Dylan Savory, and Nick Boddy, who contributed one a piece.

The Dukes' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three xTrenton power plays. xWellington's offense rang up 36 shots on xTrenton's net.

xWellington also got a goal from Luc Brown as well. More assists for xWellington came via Trevor Cope, Abbott Girduckis, Joe McKeown, and Erick Delaurentis, who each chipped in one.

Denny Dubblestyne rejected 34 shots on goal for the Golden Hawks. xTrenton ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Shaquille Hickey was ejected from the game. Tyson Teichmann made 16 saves before being replaced by Taylor Welsh, who took the loss and made seven saves. The Dukes totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. For xWellington, Alex Carnevale was ejected from the game.
