Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the xTrenton Golden Hawks defeated the xNorth York Rangers in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

xTrenton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Golden Hawks kept xNorth York's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jason Pucciarelli made 44 saves on 47 shots.

xTrenton was helped by Danny Liscio, who tallied one goal. Liscio scored on the power play 12:28 into the second period to make the score 1-1. A holding stick penalty on Fung Zachary had put the Golden Hawks on the power play. Mathew Thompson picked up the assist. xTrenton also got a goal from Dylan Savory as well. In addition, xTrenton received assists from Zach de Concilys and Brady Wiffen, who contributed one a piece.

xTrenton was unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and xNorth York eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

The Rangers were helped by Corey Helliwell, who had one goal. Helliwell scored 3:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xNorth York. Matthew Whittaker assisted on the tally. xNorth York additionally got points from Valadao Adam, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for xNorth York came via Liam Kerins, who had one.

The Golden Hawks' Denny Dubblestyne stopped 42 shots out of the 44 that he faced. xTrenton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. xNorth York incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
