Lindsay rips North York, 7-3

The North York Rangers had trouble finding ways to stop the Lindsay Muskies, which beat Rangers, 7-3.

Lindsay got the win with help from a great game by Peter Barral, who had two goals and one assist. Barral scored the first of his two goals at 12:29 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Lindsay. Keegan Cairns picked up the assist. Barral's next tally made the score 4-1 Lindsay with 9:50 left in the third period. The Muskies had gotten the advantage when North York's Brandon Gaudette was sent off for interference. Austin Brown provided the assist.

Lindsay found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Muskies have scored at the pace of 3.1 goals per game during the current campaign.

Lindsay additionally got points from Brown, who also had one goal and one assist and Joseph Vocino, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Lindsay also had goals scored by Vince Herlihey, Brock Spear, and Patrick Morgan, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Brandon Washer, Austin Eastman, and Stefan Von Egelbrechten, who each chipped in one.

Lindsay was unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and North York eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

The Rangers were helped by Matthew Whittaker, who finished with one goal. Whittaker scored 18:05 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lindsay. Others who scored for North York included Fung Zachary and Patrick Simmonds, who scored one goal each. In addition, North York received assists from Kyle Thacker, who had one and Alex Leader, who had two.

Branden Francey made 40 saves for the Muskies on 43 shots. Lindsay incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Muskies ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Logan DeNoble was ejected from the game. Jason Pucciarelli rejected 17 shots on goal for North York. The Rangers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
