xWhitby rolls over xTrenton, 4-1

The xWhitby Fury had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the xTrenton Golden Hawks.

xWhitby was paced by Henry Thompson, who racked up one goal and one assist. Thompson scored on the power play 16:48 into the first period to make the score 2-1 xWhitby. The Fury had gained a power play chance when Fabrizio Ricci was whistled for hooking. Ryan Kirkup assisted on the tally.

xTrenton was unable to stop xWhitby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Fury eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. xWhitby had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on nine chances.

xWhitby additionally got points from Kirkup, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Taylor Best, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for xWhitby were Marco Azzano, who had two and Marcus Crawford, Mike Panowyk, and Jeremy Wu, who contributed one a piece.

The Golden Hawks could not produce up to they normal offensive output. xTrenton puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The Golden Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

xTrenton was led by Danny Liscio, who scored the team's only goal. Liscio scored on the power play 7:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xTrenton. A hooking penalty on Mitchell Burghardt APJ had put the Golden Hawks on the power play. Tyler Donaldson picked up the assist.

Tyler Feaver rejected 19 shots on goal for the Fury. xWhitby incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. xTrenton's Denny Dubblestyne stopped 29 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Golden Hawks registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
