yAurora survives Oakville comeback, wins 2-1

The Oakville Blades tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the yAurora Tigers held on for a 2-1 victory.

yAurora took a 2-0 lead during the first period, only to have Oakville storm back on a Kris Bennet goal 13:00 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Tigers were led by goalie Kevin Entmaa, who finished with 38 saves while allowing one goal. Entmaa certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.01 entering the contest.

yAurora excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Tigers forced the Blades goalie Brendan McGlynn to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

yAurora was helped by Calvin Higley, who grabbed one goal. Higley scored 17:47 into the first period to make the score yAurora. Dylan Sikura picked up the assist. Adam DiBrina also scored for yAurora. In addition, yAurora received assists from Alex Gilmour, Tyler Boston, and Kory Kennedy, who contributed one a piece.

The Tigers were unable to stop Oakville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Other players who recorded assists for Oakville were Matthew McLeod and Dalton Bew, who each chipped in one.

yAurora incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brendan McGlynn made 47 saves for Oakville on 49 shots. The Blades incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
