Milton rides Blacker to victory over Georgetown, 2-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Ben Blacker helped the Milton Icehawks defeat the Georgetown Raiders, 2-1.

Milton pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 34 penalty minutes.

The Icehawks were led by Kane Elliot, who registered one goal. Elliot scored 5:54 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Milton. Daniel Poutscongas picked up the assist.

Milton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Georgetown was unable to stop the Icehawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Milton eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Ryan Burns also scored for Milton. In addition, Milton received assists from Cooper Richards and Josh Pace, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Georgetown averages 3.4 goals per game. The Raiders' offense rang up 41 shots on the Icehawks' net.

Georgetown was led by Andrew Court, who scored the team's only goal. Court scored 6:03 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown. Drake Hart assisted on the tally.

Blacker rejected 40 shots on goal for Milton. The Icehawks registered one goal on one power play opportunities. The Raiders' Michael McNiven stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Georgetown incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
