Barral nets hat trick, leads Lindsay to 6-2 win over St. Michaels

Peter Barral netted a hat trick to lead the Lindsay Muskies over the St. Michaels Buzzers, 6-2.

Barral notched his first tally 13:50 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:01 into the third and at 19:35 into the third.

Lindsay's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St. Michaels power plays. St. Michaels was unable to stop the Muskies from sending pucks towards the net, and Lindsay eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Muskies' goal total was higher than their season average. Lindsay averages 3.0 goals per game.

Lindsay also had goals scored by Austin Brown, Jake Ryan, and Davis Gadjovich, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Vince Herlihey and Joseph Vocino, who each chipped in one and Brock Spear, Patrick Morgan, Keegan Cairns, and Stefan Von Egelbrechten, who contributed two a piece.

The Buzzers forced the Muskies goalie Branden Francey to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

St. Michaels was helped by Thomas Beretta, who grabbed one goal. Beretta scored 13:59 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lindsay. Matt Alvaro assisted on the tally. St. Michaels also got a goal from David Italiano as well. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Ian Edmondson and Angelpooulos Peter, who each chipped in one.

Lindsay's Francey stopped 37 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Muskies incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Victor Adamo made 27 saves for the Buzzers on 32 shots. St. Michaels incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Buzzers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matt Pepler was ejected from the game.
