Perry, Cobourg blank Stouffville, 3-0

The Cobourg Cougars used a sparkling performance by Nathan Perry to take down the Stouffville Spirit, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Cobourg's 3-0 shutout victory.

The Cougars were paced by Mitchell Gibson APJ, who finished with one goal. Gibson APJ scored on the power play 4:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg. Cobourg earned a power play opportunity when Spencer Roberts was put in the box for high sticking. TJ Melancon picked up the assist.

The Cougars stifled Stouffville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cobourg was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Cougars gives up 2.2 goals on average per game. Cobourg forced the Spirit goalie Daniel Mannella to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Others who scored for Cobourg included Jake Emilio and Liam Grande, who each put in one. More assists for Cobourg came via Alex D Oliveira, Ryan OGrady, Nick Neal, Kenzie Smith, and Taylor Gauld, who each chipped in one.

Stouffville's offense operated below it season average. The Spirit put an average of 3.0 pucks into the net per game.
