The Trenton Golden Hawks relied on the scoring touch of Tyler Donaldson, who netted two goals, to beat the Pickering Panthers, 6-3. Donaldson's tallies came at 4:42 into the third period to make the score 3-3 and 15:31 into the third to make the score 5-3 Trenton.Trenton kept Pickering's goalie busy throughout the game, and Greg Zupan made 29 saves on 35 shots. The Golden Hawks' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Trenton finished with 18 penalty minutes. The Golden Hawks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Trenton additionally got points from Danny Liscio, who also had one goal and two assists. Trenton also had goals scored by Tyler Mayea, Brian Hurlimann, and Brady Wiffen, who scored one goal each. In addition, Trenton received assists from Hunter Fargey, who had two, Mathew Thompson, who had four, and Dylan Savory and Zach de Concilys, who contributed one a piece. The Panthers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Pickering was helped by Brodie Tutton, who registered one goal. Pickering registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. For the Panthers, Lepone was ejected from the game.
