Campbell nets hat trick, leads Burlington to 4-2 win over Orangeville

The Orangeville Flyers could not stop the Burlington Cougars' Daniel Campbell, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-2 win.

Campbell notched his first tally 3:38 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:32 into the first and at 4:39 into the second.

Burlington managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Cougars finished below its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. Burlington forced Orangeville goalie Wyatt Pickrell to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Burlington also got a goal from Paolo DeSousa as well. In addition, Burlington received assists from Austin McKeneney, Kyle Kokotailo, Christian Burel, and Tyler Lepore, who each chipped in one and Neil Aird and Ryan Wilkinson, who contributed two a piece.

The Flyers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Orangeville was helped by Ryan Anton, who tallied one goal. Anton scored 18:51 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Burlington. Connor Stack provided the assist. Henry Stafferton also scored for Orangeville. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were Devon Gillham, Emmerson Small, and Scott Goodman, who each chipped in one.

Jeremy Currie recorded 20 saves for the Cougars. Burlington registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. The Flyers' Pickrell stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Orangeville avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of one power plays.
