Michael McNiven recorded a shutout against the Burlington Cougars as the Georgetown Raiders picked up a 3-0 win. Georgetown pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes. The Raiders stifled Burlington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cougars were unable to stop Georgetown from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Georgetown was helped by Liam Clare, who registered one goal. Clare scored on the power play 2:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown. The Raiders had gained a power play chance when Derek Rotter was whistled for tripping. Liam Board provided the assist. Others who scored for Georgetown included Steve Hladin and Brendan Jacome, who each put in one. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Nicholas Palumbo, Richard Court, and Phil Kiss, who contributed one a piece. Burlington did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Cougars average 2.4 goals per game. McNiven recorded 30 saves for Georgetown. The Raiders registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Jeremy Currie made 32 saves for Burlington on 34 shots. The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
