Vocino nets hat trick, leads Lindsay to 6-2 win over Hamilton

The Hamilton Red Wings could not stop the Lindsay Muskies' Joseph Vocino, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win.

Vocino got on the scoresheet 4:53 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:24 into the first and at 19:22 into the third.

Lindsay led 4-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

The Muskies put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Hamilton to score on any of its four power plays. Lindsay outdid its season average for goals scored. The Muskies average 2.9 goals per game.

Lindsay also got points from Patrick Morgan, who also had one goal and one assist. Lindsay also had goals scored by Austin Brown and Peter Barral, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Vince Herlihey, who had two and Brock Spear, Keegan Cairns, and Stefan Von Egelbrechten, who contributed one a piece.

Lindsay was unable to stop the Red Wings from sending pucks towards the net, and Hamilton eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

The Red Wings were led by Mitch Reid, who registered one goal. Reid scored 7:12 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Lindsay. Jason OConnor assisted on the tally. Hamilton also got a goal from Riley Dunda as well. More assists for Hamilton came via Joel Knight, who had one.

Branden Francey made 36 saves for the Muskies on 38 shots. Lindsay incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Mark Sinclair rejected 19 shots on goal for Hamilton. The Red Wings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
