Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the North York Rangers defeated the Lindsay Muskies in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO). The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout.North York came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Rangers trailed 2-0 after a goal by Lindsay's Patrick Morgan at 4:24 in the first period. North York knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Peter Barral at 16:44 in the second period. The Rangers were paced by John Carpino, who had one goal and one assist. Carpino scored 5:31 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lindsay. Corey Kalk assisted on the tally. North York's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Lindsay power plays. The Rangers forced the Muskies goalie Branden Francey to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. North York also got points from Kalk, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Fung Zachary also scored for North York. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Valadao Adam, who had two and Gabriel Valenzuela and Liam Kerins, who each chipped in one. Lindsay's offense rang up 35 shots on North York's net. More assists for Lindsay came via Michael Spataro, Jake Ryan, Brandon Washer, James Sterne, and Keegan Cairns, who contributed one a piece. Gianluca Baggetta rejected 32 shots on goal for the Rangers. North York incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Muskies' Francey stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Lindsay incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
