St. Michaels falls to North York in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The North York Rangers pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the St. Michaels Buzzers on a clutch goal by Liam Kerins.

Kerins had a great game for North York, netting two goals. Kerins scored on the power play at 11:49 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 2:12 into the fourth to make the score 3-2 North York.

The Rangers' penalty kill excelled, as North York gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

The Rangers stifled St. Michaels' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Buzzers were unable to stop North York from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. North York was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 18 penalty minutes.

North York also got a goal from Brandon Gaudette as well. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Patrick Piacentini, who had two and Ted Hunt, Alex Leader, Corey Kalk, and John Carpino, who each chipped in one.

St. Michaels forced the Rangers goalie Jason Pucciarelli to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

The Buzzers were helped by CJ Shugart, who grabbed one goal. Shugart scored 8:50 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Stefano Pezzetta assisted on the tally. Matt Alvaro also scored for St. Michaels. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Jake Evans, who had one.

Pucciarelli rejected 32 shots on goal for North York. The Rangers registered two goals on six power play opportunities. St. Michaels' Victor Adamo stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Buzzers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
