Aurora uses fast start to beat Lindsay, 8-1

The Aurora Tigers jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Lindsay Muskies, 8-1.

Kory Kennedy had two goals and two assists to lead Aurora. Kennedy scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. A slashing penalty on Keegan Cairns had put the Tigers on the power play. Taylor McCloy provided the assist. Kennedy's next tally on the power play made the score 7-0 Aurora with 9:26 left in the third period. Aurora had taken the advantage when Lindsay's Stuart Fierheller got sent off for high sticking. McCloy picked up the assist.

The Tigers' penalty kill excelled, as Aurora gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Tigers stifled the Muskies' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Aurora's offense rang up 42 shots on Lindsay's net. The Tigers outdid their season average for goals scored. Aurora averages 4.1 goals per game. The Tigers' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Aurora finished with 42 penalty minutes.

Aurora additionally got points from Alex Gilmour, who also registered one goal and one assist, Mihkel Poldma, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Calvin Higley, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Aurora included Dylan Sikura, Michael Laidley, and Curtis Warren, who each put in one. In addition, Aurora received assists from Austin Rigney, who had three and Michael Keenan, Drake Board, Tyler Boston, Eric Williams, and Liam Neuman, who contributed one a piece.

The Muskies could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Andy Munroe recorded 24 saves for the Tigers. Aurora registered three goals on six power play opportunities. For the Tigers, Kyle Liu was ejected from the game. Lindsay's Mathew Robson stopped 34 shots out of the 42 that he faced.
