Lindsay rolls over Toronto Lakeshore, 4-1Lindsay Recreation Centre Fri, Dec 20, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Lindsay Muskies had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots. Lindsay's Branden Francey was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. Francey certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.3 entering the contest. The Muskies were sparked by Joseph Vocino, who racked up one goal. Vocino scored 8:11 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Lindsay. Vince Herlihey provided the assist. Lindsay excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Lindsay also got points from Patrick Morgan, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Keegan Cairns, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Lindsay also got a goal from Cole Murduff as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Michael Spataro, who had one and Jake Ryan, who had three. Toronto Lakeshore's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Lindsay power plays. The Patriots did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Toronto Lakeshore averages 3.8 goals per game. The Muskies ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Lindsay, Austin Eastman was ejected from the game. Jeremy Helvig rejected 24 shots on goal for the Patriots. Toronto Lakeshore ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Patriots ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Niko Kovachis was ejected from the game.
