Newmarket boosted by Bessette's play in net, beats Lindsay 4-1Ray Twinney Rink 1 Sun, Dec 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Bo Bessette stood on his head and made 33 saves to lead the Newmarket Hurricanes to a 4-1 victory over the Lindsay Muskies. Newmarket was led by Brandon Francisco, who racked up one goal. Francisco scored 4:37 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Newmarket. Jesse Saban assisted on the tally. The Hurricanes forced Lindsay goalie Branden Francey to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Newmarket also got points from Trevor Petersen, who also registered one goal and one assist and Justin Maiolino, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Nik Coric also scored for Newmarket. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Ian Farrell, who had two and Adam Smith and Jacob Piltzmaker, who each chipped in one. The Muskies' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Newmarket power plays. Lindsay's offense rang up 34 shots on Newmarket's net. The Hurricanes incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Francey recorded 27 saves for the Muskies. Lindsay incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
