Lindsay downs Newmarket in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Brandon Washer gave the Lindsay Muskies a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Newmarket Hurricanes when he scored 2:42 into the extra period.

Lindsay was led by Washer, who registered one goal.

The Muskies were led by Washer, who tallied one goal.

Lindsay additionally got points from Patrick Morgan, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stefan Von Egelbrechten also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Jake Ryan, Vince Herlihey, Bryce Sweeting, Joseph Vocino, and Logan DeNoble, who contributed one a piece.

Newmarket was led by Trevor Petersen, who grabbed two goals. Petersen scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:24 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Hurricanes had gained a power play chance when Stuart Fierheller was whistled for checking from behind. Cameron Nicoll assisted on the tally. Petersen's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 4:15 left in the first period. Newmarket had gotten the advantage when Lindsay's Bryan Hignett was sent off for abuse of officials. Brandon Francisco picked up the assist. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Justin Maiolino, who had one.

The Muskies' Branden Francey stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Lindsay totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. For the Muskies, Fierheller and Sweeting were ejected from the contest. Bo Bessette made 24 saves for the Hurricanes on 27 shots. Newmarket incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
