Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Aurora Tigers defeated the Kingston Voyageurs in a shootout 5-4 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams.Aurora overcame a four-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Tigers trailed 4-0 after a power play goal by Kingston's Michael Casale at 14:44 in the second period. Aurora tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Taylor McCloy at 19:03 in the third period. Eric Williams had two goals to lead the Tigers to victory. Williams scored on the power play at 4:25 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Kingston and again while 18:34 into the third to make the score 4-3 Kingston. The Voyageurs were unable to stop Aurora from sending pucks towards the net, and the Tigers eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. The defensemen of Aurora were also effective in Kingston's zone, and came away with two goals. Aurora also got points from McCloy, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Kory Kennedy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Aurora received assists from Dylan Sikura, who had two and Noah Delmas, Curtis Warren, and Robert Angiolella, who contributed one a piece. The Voyageurs made the Tigers' goaltenders to work in net, launching 39 shots and forcing 35 saves. Kevin Entmaa made 35 stops and Andy Munroe made zero. Kingston's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Voyageurs finished with 18 penalty minutes. Kingston was helped by Brett Du Puy, who registered one goal. Du Puy scored on the power play 2:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. The Voyageurs had gotten the advantage when Aurora's Arran MacDonald was sent off for high sticking. Alex Tonge assisted on the tally. Kingston additionally got points from Brandon O Quinn, who also had one goal and one assist. Brett Seney also scored for Kingston. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Blake ONeill, Michael Crocock, Adam Brady, and Patrick Volpe, who each chipped in one. The Tigers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Alex Brooks-Potts recorded 36 saves for Kingston. The Voyageurs registered two goals on four power play opportunities.
