Pucciarelli leads North York to shutout victory over Cobourg

Jason Pucciarelli made 34 saves to complete the shutout and led the North York Rangers to a 2-0 win against the Cobourg Cougars.

North York was led by Phillip Chadder, who grabbed one goal. Chadder scored 3:34 into the third period to make the score 1-0 North York. Power Brody picked up the assist.

The Rangers stifled Cobourg's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Liam Kerins also scored for North York. More assists for North York came via Patrick Piacentini, Christian Zanetti, and John Carpino, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars were held below their usual level of production. Cobourg puts an average of 3.0 pucks into the net per game. The Cougars' offense rang up 34 shots on North York's net. Cobourg found itself short handed often, totaling 38 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays.

The Rangers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Nathan Perry recorded 25 saves for the Cougars. Cobourg registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. For the Cougars, Connor Armour was ejected from the game.
