xCobourg downs Burlington, 3-1

Jake Emilio grabbed one point to lead the xCobourg Cougars to a 3-1 victory over the Burlington Cougars.

xCobourg stifled Burlington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cougars were unable to stop the Cougars from sending pucks towards the net, and xCobourg eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. The Cougars' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

xCobourg also had goals scored by Ryan OGrady and Chris Turner, who each put in one. More assists for xCobourg came via Alex D Oliveira, Landon Schiller, Connor Armour, and Mark MacAulay, who contributed one a piece.

Burlington found itself short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

The Cougars were led by Viktor Meuller, who scored the team's only goal. Meuller scored 1:19 into the third period to make the score 2-1 xCobourg. Paolo DeSousa provided the assist.

Nathan Perry rejected 18 shots on goal for xCobourg. The Cougars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Devin Tappendan recorded 40 saves for Burlington. The Cougars registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
