Huge game by Adam boosts North York over Oakville, 8-1

Behind a great game by Valadao Adam, who had one goal and three assists, the North York Rangers defeated the Oakville Blades, 8-1.

Adam scored on the power play 18:44 into the first period to make the score 2-0 North York. North York had taken the advantage when Oakville's Vince Palermo got sent off for checking from behind. Liam Kerins assisted on the tally. Adam dished an assist on Gabriel Valenzuela's goal that made the score 3-0 North York at 19:47 into the first period. He then added assists on John Carpino's goal at 3:51 into the third and on Carpino's goal at 13:49 into the third.

The Blades were doomed by their poor performance on special teams, as the Rangers were able to score five times while on the power play.

North York surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Rangers average 3.3 goals per game.

North York additionally got points from Carpino, who also registered three goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Fung Zachary also scored for North York. More assists for North York came via Matthew Whittaker, who had two, Patrick Piacentini, who had three, and Max Novick and Michael Giacometti, who contributed one a piece.

Oakville racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. The Blades had been averaging 20.0 minutes in penalties per game. Oakville was held below its usual level of production. The Blades put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

Jason Pucciarelli recorded 24 saves for North York. The Rangers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For North York, Alex Leader was ejected from the game. Brendan McGlynn made 17 saves for Oakville on 25 shots. The Blades registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Oakville, Keigan Goetz and Palermo were ejected from the contest.
