Seney's big game bests Orangeville in 10-3 Kingston win

The Kingston Voyageurs' Brett Seney had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing four assists in his team's 10-3 win over the Orangeville Flyers.

Seney's tallies came at 17:44 into the first period to make the score 4-2 Kingston and 16:04 into the second to make the score 9-2 Kingston.

Kingston made Orangeville's goaltenders to work all game long, taking 51 shots and forcing 41 saves. Wyatt Pickrell made 16 stops and Taylor Welsh made 25. The Voyageurs bested their season scoring average. This season, Kingston averages 3.2 goals per contest.

Kingston also got points from Adam Brady, who also racked up one goal and four assists and Alex Tonge, who also tallied three goals and two assists. Others who scored for Kingston included Cole Bolton, who had one and Brandon O Quinn, who had three. In addition, Kingston received assists from Zachary Emelifeonwu, Wyatt Cota, Patrick Volpe, and Brody Heleno, who contributed one a piece and Maxim Pitre and Spencer Green, who each chipped in two.

The Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Orangeville was helped by Lucas Smilsky, who registered one goal. Smilsky scored on the power play 8:06 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Orangeville. The Flyers had gotten the advantage when the Voyageurs' Volpe was sent off for roughing after whistle. Matt Mercer assisted on the tally. Orangeville additionally got points from Ian Nichols, who also had one goal and one assist. Orangeville also got a goal from Devon Gillham as well. More assists for Orangeville came via Brian Fonseca, Angelpooulos Peter, and Colin Rigney, who contributed one a piece.

Kingston's Alex Brooks-Potts stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Voyageurs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Orangeville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
