Trenton rolls over Orangeville, 8-0Duncan Memorial Fri, Nov 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Orangeville Flyers had trouble finding ways to stop the Trenton Golden Hawks, which beat Flyers, 8-0. Tyler Mayea had one goal and two assists to lead Trenton. Mayea scored 1:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Trenton. Jason Zaleski provided the assist. Orangeville's power play was ineffective against the Golden Hawks' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Trenton made the Flyers' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 35 shots and forcing 27 saves. Wyatt Pickrell made seven stops and Taylor Welsh made 20. The Golden Hawks stifled Orangeville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Trenton's defense was surprisingly good. The Golden Hawks gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. Trenton found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Golden Hawks average 4.5 goals per game. Trenton could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Trenton additionally got points from Mathew Thompson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Danny Liscio, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Zaleski, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Zach de Concilys, who also had two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Trenton also got a goal from Hunter Fargey as well. In addition, Trenton received assists from Tyler Donaldson, who had two and Chrisitian Lloyd, Hunter Baker, and Brady Wiffen, who each chipped in one. The Flyers could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Orangeville averages 2.5 goals per game. The Flyers' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in three goals to the Golden Hawks' power play unit. Emerson Verrier made 23 saves for Trenton on 23 shots. Orangeville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Flyers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Austin Kozluk was ejected from the game.
